It has been an especially eventful several months. My “silent stallion” now has another dent from being rear ended for the second time in two years. I just can’t seem to catch a break over here. I’m wearing a splint over my left hand after surgery for removal of a dorsal ganglion cyst. I’ll have it for about another week or so. Although without pain, it is terribly inconvenient. Let’s unpack the rear.. Read More
Madden 24 – First Take
So shortly after my last post, I was rear ended in my silent automobile. I attribute my rear end damage a little bit to its silent nature–if I had a loud V8 perhaps I would have startled the attention of the driver behind me? instead, I slipped in traffic and attempted to turn left to my detriment… Madden 24 came out last Friday, 8/18/23. The rosters are updated and some minor adjustments were.. Read More
The State of Madden 23 – Franchise Mode
The featured image is from the November 6, 2022, Raiders-Jaguars game. It is not directly related to this post or anything… Just thought I’d share. I would consider myself to be pretty good at Madden at this point. I’ve been playing it fairly regularly for a couple of years and I am able to read many of the defensive cues. That being said, I am acutely aware of the fact this is a.. Read More
Sports, A Welcome Relief From It All
This post has been a long time coming, and it is because I am still adjusting to the lifestyle change that occurs from being in management versus serving as a team lead. I did not expect the change to be this abrupt. I have not completely discounted that this could be correlation as opposed to causation, given that I still to this day adjust from my mother’s passing over two years ago. Nothing.. Read More
Hello, Future! My first Full EV.
Here in 2022, I find myself in the midst of a considerable transition. About two months ago I officially sold my favorite car, my Honda Civic Type R, for a fully electric Tesla Model Y. I love everything about it so far. Featured image is from a local EV event held at TIAA Bank Field that I attended recently. In other news, I have switched gears from NFL towards NBA, cycling to a.. An Update For The Holidays – 2021
I’ve been out of pocket for a bit for a multitude of reasons. I would believe that the vast majority of these reasons are good. I was in a strange place when I began this website–going through a few things. You may recall this post around this time last year about the night drive: Well, the time has changed from daylight savings again so here we are… the weather is cool and it’s.. Read More
EA Sports Is Back (In the Game)
This weekend was surprisingly interesting for being such a non-event. Let’s run through it. Warning: this post will go all sorts of directions as I try to work out everything going on my life. Last weekend I was out of pocket for a family reunion primarily on my Mom’s side although I did spend much quality time on my Dad’s side as well. This was the first reunion after my Mom passed away.. Project CELICA And The Next Level
Let’s call it, Project CELICA – Level 2. I’ve invested somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 thousand dollars into Project CELICA between parts and associated labor, but the car is night and day different from when I purchased it. The most major upgrades came from the clutch, flywheel, wheels and tires. Don’t get me wrong, the most important repairs were the timing chain cover gasket and chain tensioner because oil leaks of any.. Read More
Moving And Shaking! Update on Project CELICA
So I managed to crawl out of my slump. In retrospect I think my low spirits were relevant to the old saying “one step forward, two steps back” meaning that essentially every time I try to reach my goals I inadvertently set myself back further from said goals. Over time, experiencing this type of frustration just leads to you not wanting to even try to work towards the goals–the textbook definition for lack.. Read More
Project CELICA – A Minor Slump
So as of this past week I have a new issue–the car violently shakes when engaging first gear (or reverse). My Dad convinced me it’s a motor mount issue. I worry that this may have happened when I pushed the car off of the scissor jack while trying to work on the audio system. The car ended up falling on the driver’s side front (left front) rotor rather abruptly so it may have.. Read More
