2.0L, FA20D (4U-GSE), 16V DOHC flat 4 cylinder (VVT), 205 HP, RWD, 6-speed manual

Term driven: 2018 – 2019

This car was purchased in August of 2017 and subsequently juggled between my wife and I until about August of 2018 where it became my daily driver. This car, custom-ordered to my specifications and color (World Rally Blue), was extraordinary.

Modifications include a K&N filter and Perrin exhaust. I was playing with the idea of upgrading the stereo but never got that far.

In all fairness, I had only one complaint about this car: power. This car became my daily driver after I drove around the city in the BMW M240i, the closest thing to a BMW M car that I’ve ever driven. The handling was a hands-down upgrade from my NC Miata and even the BMW M240i–it was tight, as if on rails. I just… yearned for power. I played with the idea of installing aftermarket turbo kits or supercharger kits, but I was worried about reliability as it was my daily driver and I had no secondary vehicle available at the time.

I drove this Subaru for about 7 months before I traded it in for a 2017 Porsche 911 Carrera S. I will not get into the details, but let’s just state that it was an impulse purchase while I had the means to follow-through. So much for yearning for power!
