On 1/31/2021, I attended my second event at the FIRM Starke racetrack referred to as “Winter Track Attack 2021” hosted by Honda Meet. Last time I sat shotgun as a couple of colleagues of mine made their rounds on the ~1.5 mile track. This time I was able to confirm track access and in turn proceeded to burn through my brake pads and tires with a huge grin on my face.
My friend/coworker and I headed over there early and made it onsite around the 8-9 AM timeframe. I picked up a coffee and proceeded to watch the more advanced groups fulfill their track time. When it was my turn to don my helmet and attack the track I was filled with adrenaline simply in anticipation of my run. I did make my rounds and managed to get some footage of them as well.
I stopped for a quick fast food lunch and continued with some more runs through the afternoon before calling it a day and heading back for dinner. After performing necessary maintenance on my track vehicle I fully intend to schedule for another event. I’ll close with some snapshots from the event and links to a couple videos.
